Boy arrested for allegedly murdering his brother jumps into Ganga Canal while in police custody

The boy, a minor was arrested for murdering his brother and dumping his body near the canal at Roorkee; when he was taken to the spot to find the body, he escaped from police and jumped in the river

New Delhi, May 19

A boy arrested in a murder case jumped into Ganga Canal in Uttarakhand’s Roorkee when he was taken to the spot by the police after he said he had dumped his brother’s body there.

The minor’s family members, however, alleged that his body was disposed of after he died following custodial interrogation. 

The police stated that the 17-year-old had confessed to killing his elder brother and when he was taken to the crime scene at Roorkee, he somehow freed himself and jumped into the canal

The police have formed four teams to locate the brothers’ bodies. The UP Police is carrying out a search operation with the Uttarakhand Police.

As per the case details, the murder mystery had unveiled after a man lodged a missing report about his elder son. The police arrested the younger brother after the investigation who had confessed to the crime and revealed that he had dumped the body at the canal in Roorkee.
