Body in suitcase- UP Police arrest parents of the girl who was shot dead over inter caste marriage

The body of Ayushi (21) was found in a suitcase abandoned near the Yamuna Expressway at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh

The body in a suitcase at Yamuna Expressway that turned out to be that of a girl from Delhi has opened a can of worms as Mathura Police investigation showed that the girl was killed by her family for marrying without their permission. 

The body of Ayushi (21) was found in a suitcase abandoned near the Yamuna Expressway at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Ayushi was a student of Bachelor of Computer Applications at DGIT. 

She was allegedly was killed by her father Nitesh Yadav using a licenced pistol. The police had arrested her. 

According to the police, Ayushi and her parents frequently had arguments in the past as they disapproved of her marriage to Chhatarpal Gurjar, in an Arya Samaj ceremony last year. They were also against her move to leave the house without informing them.

Ayushi’s father, on the other hand, had done well in his electronics business and owned many properties in Delhi while the boy she married didn’t earn and belonged to another caste. 

The police also learnt that Nitesh had frequently been seen drinking. They alleged that he had once brandished a firearm in the street a few years ago when an argument broke out.

On the fateful day, Ayushi had a fight with her mother and later her father was called. The father daughter got in an altercation and he took out a pistol and shot at her. 

The police have booked the parents for murder.
