BSF destroys two drones and seizes narcotics in Punjab

New Delhi, May 29

The Border Security Force (BSF) destroyed two drones near Amritsar and seized narcotics in Fazilka district of Punjab. 

The troops recovered a drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice RTK 300) from the farming fields of Dhanoe Khurd village. 

The roops near also saw three persons running towards the village, challenged them and caught hold of one suspect alongwith a bag containing suspected narcotics consignment of three packets (gross weight - appx 3.4 Kgs). An iron hook and four luminous strips also found attached with the consignment.

In second case, the BSF heard another sound of a drone in Dhanoi Khurd, which was fired. 

During subsequent search of the area, BSF troops recovered a black coloured drone (Quadcopter, DJI Matrice,  300 RTK) alongwith a consignment containing one bag of suspected Narcotics, attached with the drone by the means of iron ring, officials said. 

The gross weight of the recovered consignment of suspected narcotics is approximately 2.700 kgs.

The BSF and Punjab Police launched a joint search operation on the outskirts of Dal village in Tarn Taran. 

During search of the area, troops recovered a consignment of two packets of suspected Narcotics, from a farming fields of Tarn Taran. 

An iron ring was also found attached with the consignment, hinting that the consignment was delivered through a Pak Drone during night hours, officials said. 

The gross weight of the recovered consignment of suspected narcotics is approximately 4.2 kgs.

Another nefarious attempt of Pakistan to smuggle contrabands, foiled due to joint efforts and timely action by BSF and Punjab Police.
