BJP Yuva morcha leader in Kanpur assaulted and killed over land dispute

New Delhi, March 7

A BJP Yuva Morcha leader was allegedly beaten to death over a land dispute in Kanpur Dehat. 

The victim was identified as Amresh Tripathi, the former district vice-president of Yuva Morcha. Tiwari is son of former Kanpur Dehat district unit president, Rajesh Tiwari.

The police said the incident took place in at Pukhraya town in Kanpur Dehat area. 

The accused have been identified as Ghanshyam and his family members- Urmila Devi, Bharat Pal and others who attacked Tripathi with sticks and iron rods when he objected to the construction of the boundary wall.

The officials added that Tripathi had reached Pukhraya after coming to know that a local resident and his family members were allegedly trying to capture a piece of land belonging to a trust (Tripathi was the member of the same) by building a boundary wall. 

According to the police, the murder is a fallout of a land dispute.

The police have booked the accused for assault and murder under various sections of the IPC.
