The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested bookie Anil Jaisinghani, who was named as a co accused in the case related to the alleged extortion of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta Fadnavis.

Anil Jaisinghani is a wanted bookie who was on the run from last seven years. He was arrested from the border of Godhra district in Gujarat by a crime branch team. 

The Mumbai Crime Branch was hunting for him since last three days. the crime branch camped in Gujarat on an intel that Jaisinghani was in a hiding in the neighbouring state, 

Jaisinghani's daughter Aniksha was arrested few days ago for trying to extort Rs. 10 crores fom Devendra Fadnavis' wife Amruta Fadnavis. The Mumbai Police had registered an FIR on February 20 against the father-daughter duo for allegedly trying to blackmail Amruta by threatening to make public some audio and video clips that would make it appear that the latter was accepting favours from her. As per the complaint, Aniksha had befriended Amruta over the past few years and gained her trust.

The police added that Aniksha first tried to bribe Amruta with Rs. one crore but when that bid failed, she tried to extort Rs. 10 crores and
