Amritpal Crackdown- Police find that Amritpal used a Haryana roadways bus to flee from Kurukshetra, two held for giving shelter to him

The Punjab Police hunting wanted Waris Punjab De chief, Amritpal Singh found out that Amritpal after using two motorcycles and taking refuge at a Gurudwara for few minutes boarded a Haryana roadways bus from Ambala.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has been assisting the Punjab Police on the hunt for Amritpal Singh.

The police stated that Amritpal after boarding a bus from Ambala got down at Kurukshetra’s Pipli. The police received the information on the development through a roadways bus driver at Kashmere Gate. 

The police have also collected the CCTV footage around Kashmere Gate to identify the driver and conductor of the bus. 

The police had earlier arrested a 30-year-old woman, Baljeet Kaur, from Haryana for allegedly providing shelter to Amritpal and his aide Papalpreet at her house in Kurukshetra’s Shahabad for a day where Amritpal changed his clothes.

Papalpreet is a self-proclaimed journalist, who was last seen with pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh, allegedly arranged his stay in Krukshetra and later helped him escape by changing disguise. 

Amritpal is on the run since March 18 and the police have launched a hunt to trace him. He and Amritpal were last seen on March 19 at the residence of former’s friend Baljit Kaur Kurukshetra’s Shahbad. The duo left her house on March 20. 

The investigating agencies have found that Papalpreet left a bag with Baljit Kaur and had told her that someone will collect it.

The Income Tax department served a notice to Papalpreet asking to explain the source of an unaccounted Rs 4.48 lakh that was credited into his account.
