AIR official and her daughter found dead in decomposed state in East Delhi

A PCR call from the neighbour upstairs, who complained of a foul smell coming from the retired official’s apartment

New Delhi, June 1

A retired official from All India Radio’s Akashvani and her daughter were found dead inside their house in Krishna Nagar. 

The deceased have been identified as Rajrani Lal (64) and her daughter Ginni, a student.

The police said their bodies were decomposing and maggot-infested, suggesting that they were lying in the house for at least a week.

The police received a PCR call from the neighbour upstairs, who complained of a foul smell coming from the retired official’s apartment. 

The police teams rushed their with forensic teams. 

The police observed the women lived on the first floor. Their house has a twin locking system; one at the main entrance gate and the other at the main door. The digital system can only be opened after authorisation (by residents). The police found that the accused hwas allowed to enter the premises. 

The investigators have collected footage of all CCTVs at the building and neighborhood. The police have begun questioning the neighbours, house help and others. 

The police stated that bodies have been sent for autopsy however they are in a highly decomposed state. The bodies were found with multiple injuries suggesting that they were hit. However, the police are waiting for autopsy reports and other details.
