The recent controversy of alleged bribe involving then DG Prisons Sandeep Goel has led to appointment of senior IPS officer Sanjay Beniwal as the new DG Prisons in Delhi while district DCPs changed

A major reshuffle has taken place in Delhi Police with the L-G ordering reshuffle of DG Prisons and 19 IPS and DANIPS officers in Delhi. 

The recent controversy of alleged bribe involving then DG Prisons Sandeep Goel has led to appointment of senior IPS officer Sanjay Beniwal as the new DG Prisons in Delhi. Beniwal has served as DG Chandigarh before coming back to Delhi Police and initially heading the Perception Management Cell alongwith Media Cell and Provisioning Department of Delhi Police. 

An officer of the 1989 batch, Beniwal was the Special Commissioner of Perception Management Cell of Delhi Police. After conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s alleged revelations of giving bribery to AAP leader Satyendra Jain and DG Prisons Sandeep Goel, Goel was asked to report the Police Headquarters and subsequently transferred out of the post. 

The reshuffle has brought 1996 batch IPS officer, Shalini Singh as the new chief of the Delhi Economic Offences Wing with an additional charge of Welfare department, which she was heading so far.

Senior IPS officer Chhaya Sharma from the same batch who was heading the Delhi EOW now will fulltime look into Eastern Range as Jt CP, which was an additional charge with her. 

IPS officer, Amrendra Kr Singh has been appointed as Joint CP Transport while Rishi Pal has been appointed Joint CP Armed Police.

Vijay Singh has been appointed as Joint Director, Delhi Police Academy and Vikramjit Singh has been appointed as Additional CP New Delhi Range.

Mahesh Chandra Bharadwaj has been appointed as Additional CP Traffic and Sharat Kumar Sinha has been appointed as Additional CP HQ while Mangesh Kashyap has been appointed as DCP RP Bhawan.

DCP East Priyanka Kashyap has moved to the Intelligence Bureau. 

The young officers, Guguloth Amrutha who was DCP New Delhi has been appointed as DCP East Delhi while Pranav Tayal who was DCP Rohini has been appointed DCP New Delhi District. Guriqbal Singh Sidhu has been appointed as DCP Rohini District.

A K Lal has been appointed as DCP HQ-III while Harendra Kr Singh has been appointed as DCP Outer Delhi.

Kumar Gyanesh who is DCP Perception Management has been given additional charge as DCP Welfare. DCP Anyesh Roy has been appointed as DCP EOW.

Ravi Kumar Singh has been appointed as DCP IGI Airport while Tanu Sharma who was DCP IGI Airport has been appointed as Additional DCP-I Rohini District.

Bisma Qazi who was Additioanl DCP I Rohini district has been appointed as DCP Licensing.

Ankit Chauhan has been appointed as Additional DCP-I, South District. Dabhi Anand Dinesh Bhai has been appointed as Additional DCP-II South District.

Amit Verma has been appointed as Additional DCP-I, Outer District while Deepak Yadav has been appointed as Additional DCP-II Outer District and Akshat Kaushal has been appointed as Additional DCP-I West District.

The DANIPS officers- Pawan Kumar has been appointed as DCP Security. Dhal Singh Patle has been appointed as DCP II Ird Battalion DAP while Saurabh Chandra has been appointed as DCP Traffic.

In September, 11 IPS and eight DANIPS officers were transferred and given new postings. 

Add CP Romil Baniya who was OSD to Delhi CP was transferred as Add CP Technology and Project implementation division. 

Benita Mary Jaiker was transferred as DCP Vigilance Chowdhary was appointed as DCP South district. 

Brijendra Kumar Yadav who was DCP Outer North was moved as DCP, Headquarter-III while Devesh Kumar Mehal was appointed as DCP, Outer North District. Sukant Shailja Ballabh was appointed as DCP Security. 

Ankit Kumar Singh was appointed as Assitional DCP, Outer North district. 

Prashant Priya Gautam was made the new DCP, CyPAD and NCFL which was handled by DCP 

Ravi Kumar Singh was transferred as additional DCP, West District while Kamalpal Singh was transferred as DCP Land & Building. 

R P Meena was transferred as DCP Traffic and Joy N Trikey was given the charge of DCP Special Branch. Anita Roy has been appointed as DCP Security. 

Rashmi Sharma Yadav has been given the charge of Additional DCP North district while Harendra Kumar Yadav was appointed as DCP Headquarters.
