POLICE FAMILIES WELFARE SOCIETY CELEBRATES WOMEN'S DAY

If a girl child is well educated, she can literate her own and her in-laws family in future - Pratima Shrivastava, PFWS President

New Delhi, March 9

The Police Families Welfare Society celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing a Jamboree at GO's Mess at Kingsway Camp in Delhi. 

The programme was graced by Chief Guest Pratima Shrivastava, President of PFWS. 

The ladies of the police families were invited to celebrate the spirit of independence and self reliance amongst women on International Women’s Day. 

The cultural programmes with recitals and games, classical and new form of dances and a play on women empowerment were performed by the members of Police Families Welfare Society.  A self defence show session was also imparted for the women. 

PFWS President felicitated the women members of Police Families Welfare Society with mementoes for their achievements. 

PFWS President in her address extended wishes for International Women’s Day. She admired the performance of hidden talents.  She discussed the earlier condition of women and child discrimination.  She insisted that if a girl child is well educated, she can literate her own & in-laws family, in future.  She stated that now, women are touching the new horizons in all streams. 

She extended her special thanks to Teamleaders of PFWS by organizing such a wonderful programme. 

The women achievers were felicitated for their achievement/services in the fields of Sports, Beauty & Welfare (Police). A Total number of 48 gifts (08 PFWS article Potli packs, 04 tracksuits, 05 Induction Cook Tops, 15 Rice Cookers, 01 OTG, 06 Memontoes, 09 planters) were given to the women achievers.  In sports category, Ms. Sangeeta, Ms. Toshani Rana, Ms. Simranjeet Kaur & Ms. Chitra were felicitated. In Beauty contests, Ms. Asha Meena & Ms. Isha Rajpoot were felicitated. The PFWS achievers namely ASI Usha Devi (Ahata Kidara), Ct. Mukesh (Dwarka), ASI Seema (Jyoti Nagar), Ct. Vandana (Malviya Nagar), HC Ekta (Model Town), HC Anita (Narela), Ct. Noori (NPL), HC Anuradha (Pitampura), Ct. Geeta (Shalimar Bagh), HC Ritu (Vikaspuri), HC Poonam & Ct. Seema (Swayam Sale Stall), Ct. Rakesh (Sale Counter) and Ct. Neeraj & Ct. Meenakshi (Skill Centre) were felicitated by the President/PFWS for their hardwork in Welfare Unit.  Welfare Centres Ahata Kidara, Dwarka, Narela, Pitampura & Shalimar Bagh were felicitated for high sales & achieving the targets.
