Noida Police arrest 18 including two from central forces and one from Delhi Police in CTET paper leak

The accused have been as Bhawani Sharma who formerly worked with CRPF while another accused, Shivram is working for the central force. The accused Vikas, is a 2006-batch ASI of Delhi police.

New Delhi, December 31

The Noida Police arrested 18 people, including two with central paramilitary forces and an ASI in Delhi Police, in connection with a paper leak for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). 

The accused have been as Bhawani Sharma who formerly worked with CRPF while another accused, Shivram is working for the central force. The accused Vikas, is a 2006-batch ASI of Delhi police. 

The other accused have been identified as Sunil Sharma, Ram Avtar, Rajesh, Bhawani Sharma, Ravi and Ankit checked into a hotel in Noida. 

The Noida police spotted a car with five men in it and when checked some ladies bag were also seen. When inquired, the occupants in car claimed that they were put up in a guesthouse at Sector 71 in Noida. The police suspecting foul play checked the premises and found the accused were allegedly involved in leaking question paper of CTET.  

Additional DCP Ranvijay Singh stated that there was no exam centre in Noida. However, these suspects had gathered in Noida to exchange the solved paper and then appear in the exam. Another suspect, by the name of Ravi, fled the scene with a pen drive containing question paper and a search operation has been launched for the same.

The police added that in probability the question paper was shown to them in advance. The police are now verifying if the questions from the question paper were found with the arrested accused or not. 

The accused told including the men in uniform told police that they were handed over the question paper. 

The police found eight of the accused who had been running a syndicate as mediators for the past four-five years and charged Rs three lakhs per candidate.

The police recovered three laptops, one keyboard, one printer, 20 mobile phones, 36,000 in cash, five cars-- a Toyota Fortuner, Maruti Swift Dzire, Mahindra XUV 500, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and a Maruti Suzuki Eeco and 50 admit cards of CBSE’s CTET exams from their possession.
