Maharashtra Police to fill vacancies of over 18000 and begins recruitment for constables, drivers, state police armed force

The Maharashtra Police that has vacancies of 18,331 posts has already received applications from over 10.5 lakh aspirants. 

The vacancies at present in the Maharashtra Police are for the posts of police constable, police driver constable and that of the armed force in the SRPF. 

The Maharashtra Police is conducting for the years 2020 and 2021 after the State Home Department passed orders to conduct recruitment for 2020-21 that was pending due to the pandemic. 

In a first, the Maharashtra Police has created as software for getting applications and the technology is working in a centralized form. After receiving the applications, they will further segregate the same on the basis of the applicant’s preference.

As per recruitment rules, the department will initially conduct a written examination of 100 marks. Only if the applicant manages to get 40 per cent marks will he/she be cleared to undergo a physical test.

The authorities have also changed the requirement of minimum marks that at least 40 marks to clear it. The physical test will be of 50 marks and the applicant has to score 50 per cent marks to make it to the merit list, added officials.
