Law student fired at during Kuan Poojan ceremony at Gurugram

Sparsh Ranga (24) had gone to his uncle’s house in Garhi Harsaru near Sector 10 for a ritual ceremony when a man who brought a pistol at the event accidentally fired

New Delhi, November 29

A law student suffered a gunshot wound after he was allegedly accidentally shot during a ‘Kuan Poojan’ ceremony in Sector 10 area in Gurugram. 

The police said they have registered a case against the accused.

The police stated that the incident took place when the victim, Sparsh Ranga (24) had gone to his uncle’s house in Garhi Harsaru near Sector 10 for a ritual ceremony.

According to the police, a man sitting in the crowd had a licensed gun and he was showing the same to another attendant when he accidentally fired. The bullet hit the victim. 

The police said the victim was rushed to a hospital in Sector 90, where he is undergoing treatment.

The police are questioning the accused and verifying the statements of the families on the same. 

The police have registered an FIR  under sections 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of Indian Penal Code.
