Delhi Crime Branch was presses to action when a neighbour found the girl missing while saw the boy married to someone else; the duo lived together in Dwarka

A case of another gruesome murder of a young girl came to the fore where her body was inside a fridge by her live-in partner.

The victim is a Nikki Yadav (24) from Jhajjhar in Haryana while the accused is Sahil Gehlot (24) whose family runs a dhaba at Mitraon village.
The couple started dating in 2018 and were living in Dwarka.

The Delhi Crime Branch arrested Sahil after the family of Nikki were searching for her while she was dead and body stuffed in a fridge at the accused's dhaba.

The police found out that the girl wanted to marry him but the man’s family had fixed his wedding on February 9-10. He didn’t tell his live-in partner of the development. When she found out, police said, the two had a fight where he strangulated her with a cable wire.

A local who knew the couple informed police when Nikki wasn't seen for a few days and he saw Sahil marry someone else. While Nikki's family had no clue about her whereabouts, her sister who used to visit the couple ocassionally thought that she was in Goa with Sahil as she wanted to go on a vacation with him.

The Crime Branch team went to Gehlot’s family home in Mitraon, but nobody was there. His phone was switched off and the family wasn’t reachable.

Special CP (Crime), Ravindra Yadav states that Sahil confessed to his crime that he has killed Yadav on February 9-10. His family was pressuring him to get married and they had fixed his engagement and wedding. He did not inform Yadav and he continued living with her. However, she found out about the wedding from someone else and confronted him, which led a to a fight on the fateful day.

He had left for his native village but after Nikki insisted on meeting he went to meet her and her sister, too, was present there. The duo then stepped out separately went tk another spot where the duo fought for almost an hour inside the car. Sahil then took a cable wire and strangulated her, police added.

After the girl died he didn't know where tk take her body, he told police, he then roamed around with her body in the car for some time and at around 4 to 5am, he reached his dhaba and allegedly decided to hide the body inside the fridge. He then went home and prepared for the wedding function.

While the girl's body was stuffed inside the fridge the dhaba was shut for the wedding function. The body was later sent for post mortem. The police have seized the car, a Hyundai Verna, which was used by the accused at the time of the offence, officials further said.
