Delivery exec with Big Basket mowed down by a car in Noida, man working on mobile tower in Gurugram dead after a fall

The Noida Police held the rash driver in the accident case while Gurugram Police booked a private company following a complaint from deceased's family for not proving safety gear to employee

A delivery executive with a leading grocery chain died after a car ran over him in Noida. The police have arrested the driver of the car.

Deepak Yadav, a resident of Noida, was working as a delivery boy at a BigBasket store in Noida sector 104.

The police seized the Honda Amaze car and arrested the car driver identified as Priyam Jindal (24), also a resident of Noida.

The incident got recorded in the CCTV footage and the video showed that the rear part of the scooter got damaged along with the car’s bumper and the front part.

According to the police, after taking items from the company store in Hajipur market, Deepak, on the way for a delivery, was hit by the car in front of gate no 1 of Lotus Boulevard in sector 100. Passersby took him to a district hospital in sector 32, where he was declared dead.

The police have registered a case under IPC sections 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees).

In another case reported from Gurugram, a technician doing the repair work at the mobile tower died after he fell off from the tower.

The police stated that the incident took place on March 9 when the victim, Bittu Singh, who worked with a private company, was engaged in installation work on a mobile tower in Jamalpur village in Bilaspur area.

He was rushed by the supervisor at the site to a hospital in Manesar and later referred to another hospital, where a doctor declared him dead. The victim's family registered a complaint stating that the company failed to provide him safety gear for his work that resulted in his death. 

The police have registered a case against the private company under section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of Indian Penal Code.
